Welcome to APDC

Following the gracious invitation of the Wuxi Municipal People's Government, the “APDC AWARDS Sustainable · Comfortable Space - 2011 Asia Pacific Interior Design for Elite" Organizing Committee decided to move the awards ceremony from Shanghai Oriental Art Center to the Wuxi Museum ( No.100, Zhongshu Rd, Wuxi City ) The Awards ceremony date is unchanged and will be held on the 25th November, 2011. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but this decision was taken in the best interest of the participating designers. Your understanding is highly appreciated!

On this occasion the Organizing Committee and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government, will be happy to welcome all VIP guests and judges from all around the world, the design agencies and participating designers and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government hope you will enjoy Wuxi hospitality.

Introduction to the Wuxi Museum (Award Evening Location)

Established on 15 October 2007, the Wuxi Museum lies in the Taihu Plaza known as the living room of Wuxi and consists of the original Wuxi Museum, the Wuxi Revolution Exhibition Hall and the Wuxi Popular Science Museum. With gross floor area of 71,000 square meters and 7 floors (2 floors being underground) it has become the largest public cultural facility in Wuxi, taking the lead in domestic cities of similar sizes in terms of construction scale. As the landmark structure of Wuxi, it applies modern steel structure and embraces the design concept of “water and stone”, offering feelings of thickness and vibrancy.

Claude Bérubé FIIDA（Canada ）

Claude Bérubé was the President of the Interior Designers of Québec (SDIQ) for 3 years and the president of the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) for another 3 years. He was also the president of the Association of Industrial Designers of Québec (ADIQ) and is a Past-President of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI). He is now the president of the Asia Pacific Design Center (APDC) and an elected member of the College of Fellows of the International Interior Design Association.

Claude is deeply involved in applying new technology to creative activities and developing new design processes.

Niels Peter Flint （Denmark）

NPF is a designer, artist and sustainable vision developer - specialized in developing design, art and architectural concepts in the field of “Radical Sustainable Innovation” and “Micro Living. He saw more than 25 years ago that sustainability would become not only big in his own field ’design’ but as a global strategic paradigm. NPF not only works with sustainability as a business - it is his passion and calling in life. He integrates sustainability in every move and step of his personal as well as professional life. His passion and engagement in sustainability has to be seen in a continuation of his artistic and design competencies.

Kevin Mark Low (Malaysia)

Kevin Low’s work involves house, building and utility design keeping sustainability in mind. He has presented papers on building technology at Harvard University and lectured in the architectural department at MIT.

While in the United States, Kevin worked in architectural practices both on the East and West coasts and studied closely with the Aga Khan Foundation, earning awards of research grants and fellowships to Italy, North Yemen, Spain and Bangladesh. His latest work is developing the master plan for Sentul, a main new town area in Kuala Lumpur.

Patick Fong (Hongkong）

Interior Design Association (H.K.) Chairman (1993-1995), he also is a professional member of International Interior Designer Association (U.S.A.), Chartered Society of Designer (U.K.)

Chen Shuo ( China )

British Standards for building energy consumption regent, 2011 Shanghai World Expo zero carbon curator, he was awarded the silver medal by the International Exhibitions Bureau, Chen has a master degree at the University of Cambridge and he is the president of zero carbon center.
