The award ceremony of 2013/2014 Celebrating Creativity Asia-Pacific Interior Design Awards for Elite host by APDC Asia Pacific Design Center was grandly held on the evening of Oct. 19th, 2014 in Hyatt Regency Hotel beside West Lake in Hangzhou, China.
Entry collection and award organization of this award have been fully supported by the city government of Montreal, Canada, Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government and China Hangzhou Culture Creative Industry Expo. The past presidents of the three most authoritative design associations in the world (International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI), The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) and The International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda)) have led the international judges of this award.
Several past presidents from International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers(IFI), which is considered as the “United Nations” of the Interior Architecture/Design field, president of Canadian National Design Association, president of South Africa Interior Design Association, president of APSDS Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association, president of Hongkong Designer Association, President of Chinese and Western Culture Creative Industries Promotion Association (Macao), president of Italy Laba Art College, Vice president of China Academy of Art and etc. All these elites in the arena of interior design have been the international award presenters. Winning designers come from China mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and many other places around the world.
At the same time, the host of the award, APDC Asia Pacific Design Center, was authorized by Canadian side and APDC held Canadian Interior Design Show from Oct.16th, 2014 to Oct.20th, 2014 during the 8th China Hangzhou Culture Creative Industry Expo, which is host by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. Winning works of 2013/2014 Canadian Interior Design Award have been collectively exhibited in the show including classical pieces like Montreal Casino, The Prémont Lantern and etc. This show was held in China for the first time with the main purpose to strengthen cultural exchanges between Canada and China.
Celebrating Creativity is the theme of this year’s APDC award. APDC thinks that designers’ creativity plays a vitally important role in city construction, healthy life and economic prosperity. So APDC expects to promote social and economic sustainable development through celebrating and inspiring designers’ creativity and this development could change our visual and living environment.
